More about TwistIIClean™ Inline Water Filter - 3/4" - 140 Mesh

Just Twist II Clean, easy-to-install, and easy-to-use inline water filter from Lakos®. TwistIIClean removes sand and organics as the water passes through the filter element. Periodic cleaning is necessary to optimize filter performance, reduce pressure loss and prolong product life.

When the filter element looks like it is filled with debris, it should be cleaned. Flush the filter quickly and easily with a 1/4 clockwise turn at the top handle starts the reverse flushing action. In a few seconds, all debris is back washed off of the filter element and flushed out the bottom of the Purge Exit port.

High-performance backflow spin-down filter with reusable SS 140 mesh (105 micron) screen offers unique backwash cleaning action without a traditional ball valve. Dual threaded inlet/outlet either NTP or BSP in 3/4", 1", or 1 1/2" sizes. High flow rate and 100 PSI pressure rating for increased operating flexibility and minimum pressure loss.

filter

This is the second one of these that I've bought. They work great. The only things I would change is to make the latch a little heavier duty and change the connection on the outlet to a water hose thread.

Awesome machine!

I have a well and this spring the amount of sediment has increased significantly to the point of clogging the filter in just a few days. I am an ex Navy Man and remembered Sea Strainers so I searched for a similar device for residential water systems. There are a few products out there but this one looked like the one with the best "Back Flush" features so I ordered it.
It came with thread to PVC slip/glue adapters which was a pleasant surprise. I installed it before the existing filter and made the final connection to the 3/4" copper with one of those newer slip on solder free fittings so I didn't even have to get out my torch.
It has solved the problem of clogging the other filter and so far I have only back flushed it once. It is truly a simple process to back flush and looks as clean as new when finished.
I am thrilled!

Broken filter clips

In operation 2 days. While removing 100 micron filter for the third time to MANUALLY clean, as the twistIIclean feature leaves the majority of debris on the screen, the retaining clips snapped off. Very weak design. Cold water makes them inflexible?

As advertised but needs a better lock on the t handle that clears the filter

Great Product

Great addition to my household water system. I have grit and manganese in my well. The TwistIIclean filters out all the larger particles prior to a 50 micron paper filter. It is the easiest backwashing filter I've owned. Once a week I backwash it and it keeps all the crap out of the line that used to collect in the paper filter. Installs as advertised. If your existing plumbing will allow you to cut out a section and install the filter, it is easy. I used compression fittings to the existing 3/4" lines. In my case, I had to reroute the water line, so it was a little more complex, but I don't have a problem with soldering copper water lines.
