I did the opposite of everyone else and bought this as a cooking tool. I've had good luck with borrowed injector syringes for sauces and marinades when cooking, but at well over $100 for a cooking branded one it was a little too rich for my blood. I got the 5mL version and bought some various needles elsewhere and it's perfect for my use with food injection and grilling, and cleaning it is quite easy.
So for someone who wants to do that same thing and not spend the massive amount for a branded one, this one works well and sticking the hose into the bottle or pot of sauce works to suck it through. it's really good at this unexpected use, and since it can be made sterile enough for use on living animals, I trust it to be made sterile enough for food about to be treated with high heat.
Great draw off syringe, only problem is tubing becomes loose where it attaches to the syringe. I seen this was noted in another review. I've remedied the problem in the same way, with a zip tie. The only issue these syringes are used by multiple employees that don't always have access to the ties or notice the problem.
Nice gun but too expensive compared to other similar syringes will be returned
Easy on your hands, doesn't require the force that other brands do to inject meds. Only caution is that you need to puncture bottle stopper prior to inserting draw off. Have had a piece of rubber come through and get stuck in the check valve.
Good product. I find that the O rings wear out and thus one has to replace these. QC Supply sells them, but they are not cheap. As well, I find that the rubber tubing often becomes loose where it inserts into the plastic nipple of the syringe. This cause the vacuum to be broken, resulting in the user to have to re-pump the syringe several times in order for the vial to re-fill. To remedy this, I use ties to "clamp down" on the rubber tubing so that it stays on tight.
We use this product to inject herbicide into invasive trees that are taking over Hawaii's native forests.
