More about QMark® MUH Electric Unit Heaters 208/240V

Made of heavy gauge die-formed steel, forced air QMark MUH Electric Unit Heaters are ideal for garages, workshops, warehouses, factories, and shipping rooms. These versatile heaters may be used for primary, supplementary, spot, or dual-system heating.

Applications: Factories, Warehouses, Garages, Stores, Shipping Rooms, Power Stations, Aircraft Hangers

Features

  • Mount horizontally or vertically
  • Completely enclosed fan motor
  • Optional control kits are field installable, increasing MUH adaptability to the specification market
  • Summer fan kits are available to adapt the heater into a cooling fan
  • Heavy-gauge die-formed steel housing. The front & back is a neutral grey, the wrap-around steel section is a statuary bronze color
  • Ruggedly built, yet lighter weight for easier installation. No piping flues, valves, or traps
  • Advanced pull-through air flow design draws air across the heating element for more even air distribution & cooler element operation
  • Specifically designed venturi outlet to meet that added throw as required in a vertical position
  • Individually adjustable discharge louvers to control airflow
  • 1- or 3-phase wiring on 5-10 kW 208/240V & 15 kW 208V units (field interchangeable)
  • Aluminum-finned, copper clad steel sheath heating element has a longer life because of cooler sheath temperature & faster heat dissipation
  • Fan delay feature eliminates cold drafts. The element heats up before the fan cuts in, then the fan continues to distribute heat after the element shuts off
  • 24V control transformer standard on most models, providing a safer & more accurate means of temperature control. 3 kW and 5 kW, 208-277V, have line voltage controls as standard
  • Automatic reset linear thermal cut-out, capillary type, provides protection over the entire length of element areas
  • Meets all UL, NEC & OSHA requirements

Great Shop Heater

This is not my first QMark heater so I guess that says something right there. It is easy to install. I set it up with two thermostats in parallel; one is set to 35 degrees and is always active in the winter to prevent freezing of liquids in the shop. The second thermostat is set to 65 degrees and is connected by a remote controlled switch so I can activate that thermostat from in my house in the winter before going to the shop. It cost less than $80 for the extra thermostat, remote switch and its 12 volt power supply, and a 12 volt relay. Nice to always be able to enter a warm shop. :-)

Heats up fast

I have the 10 KW 240 volt unit in a well insulated 900 sq ft man cave in northern Minnesota. It is -22° outside now, and 70° inside. I generally leave the garage at 40° but can warm it up in minutes to work on something. The only complaint I have is the noise level of the unit, not a problem when I'm working but annoying when we are entertaining. I still recommend the unit if you are looking for a good electric garage heater.

MUH1021 - Great heater

I'm very pleased with the build quality and function of the heater. Pumps out lots of hot air and the fan isn't too loud. The sound is noticeable, about the same as any box fan, but not so loud that it is difficult to carry on a conversation. I would recommend this heater. I also got the "QMark® Universal Wall and Ceiling Bracket" with it, which is a great option for installing the heater.

good stuff

A nice replacement product for my 20 yr old electric garage heater (a Dayton Electric, also 7500 watts). Prompt delivery, good price. Relatively easy for my local electrician to install. Good heat output. I hooked it up to an external 2 wire thermostat.
