excellent

this is the first small automatic waterer that I've used so over the long haul we will see but they've just been installed. As other people have said - get the right connections to hook up to them. They seem sturdy enough and the float is easily adjustable. No real easy way to clean except for turning the water off and dipping the water out but they aren't that big. I got them for a small water supply for sheep pens so the water would always be fresh. We installed a shut-off valve close to the waterer for easy cleaning. Ours are inside so that is an added advantage.

Do the job but...

I have 50 horse stalls with these waterers. They are hard to clean, prone to rusting and start leaking more often than I care to deal with. I am looking into waterers that have a plug at the bottom for easy cleaning and are plastic for no rusting. I know that's probably going to cause a whole host of new problems. But I am tired of how dark and rusty these get way too soon. It's hard to find the hardware to replace the leaky parts. You don't usually need the whole float valve assembly ($17 on Amazon) but instead just the valve and grommets. Used to be able to find that cheap. Not so anymore.

Great product

This works perfectly for my chicken house. We have over 200 hens in this house an it has save me alot of time of carrying water to water cans. It's been a great investment.

Very Happy

I purchased 1 waterer a couple of months ago. Could not be more pleased with it. Have not had any problems with it at all. Just ordered 5 more today. NOTE: You do not hook these up to a garden hose. You need to purchase a under counter sink hose connector and an adapter to go to your garden hose.
