The radio has a powerful speaker to ensure clear communication, even in noisy conditions. This compact radio provides coverage up to 250,000 sq.ft.; coverage will vary based on terrain and conditions.
Voice prompts enable you to program non-display radios on the go. A carry holster with a swivel belt clip lets you rotate the radio to fit comfortably and move freely while working. The antimicrobial coating helps prevent the growth of mold and germs on the radio's surface.
The HTML- based Customer Programming Software is easy to use, and works with any computer browser. You can also quickly copy settings between the RM Series and RDX Series Radios through the Motorola Multi-Unit Charger, QC Part #391007, sold separately. You can re-use your RDS series audio accessories with the RM series radios.
Each radio undergoes Motorola's unique Accelerated Life Testing (ALT). They are designed right the first time to minimize costly repairs and minimize downtime. This rigorous laboratory testing to simulate 5 years of field use, including:
- Blowing Rain: Steady rainfall and wind for 30 min on every surface
- Vibration: Up to 9 hrs of exposure to vibration that simulates the rigors a radio could undergo while being carried or transported
- Salt Fog: 48 hrs of exposure
- Blowing Dust: 6 hrs of blowing dust on all surfaces
- Shock: 18 shocks with a minimum G force of 40G each
- Temperature: Multiple hours of exposure to storage temperatures as low as -67° F and as high as 160° F
