Have used this waterer for 40 years. Cast iron bowl is best for larger pigs. We remove and discard paddle and plastic valve. Insert a nipple waterer in place of plastic valve.

We bought 4 of these for our pig nursery and 3 of them leak and one puts out only a little water and the babies have a hard time using it. Disappointed in their quality

I agree with the top comments that it isnt the toughest make drinker ever, but they will give you good service for a number of years. I use with sows all the time

Purchased 2 of these for my sows and have had nothing but problems. The flipper gets stuck open and floods my barn. Complete junk. Don't buy!

I have purchased these in the past two years and the "bushing" cracks and will flood your barn, it did mine twice. The cast aluminum also breaks in half. Might work for cats but not tough enough for pigs
